Low costThe enormous success of low-cost airlines in the market has promoted the emergence of a growing number of low cost companies.Usually, low-cost airlines fly to small airports, so-called secondary airports that charge less or almost nothing, because the stream of passengers increases their revenues and brings potential customers for the touristy development of these areas. However, are the low-cost airlines a veritable chance to improve people's lives and to protect the environment of these regions?

Nowadays, more and more people travel for leisure, business or other aims such us, visiting friends or relatives. And one of the strongest reasons in favor of this rise of trips is the recent growth of low-cost airlines. As a result of these low fares, more people can travel and follow the current trend, which goes towards shorter and more frequent trips. Another advantage is that the boarding card can be purchased on the internet, so the company does not need an agency and they can sharply reduce their economic costs.

As for the disadvantages, the most concerning one is the rise of the CO2 emissions, which contribute enormously to global warming and the green house effect. As well as this, the noise pollution causes serious effects on life quality due to the difficulty to sleep and what is worse, people can suffer from hearing loss. Another downside is that they have very inconvenient flight schedules in the short hours.

All things considered, I am in favor of low-cost airlines but they certainly have to invest more on eco-friendly engines. In conclusion, cheap air fares have broadened our travel horizon and spawned a trend for weekend breaks in exotic locations, but for the environment it has proved to be a nightmare and that is what we should avoid.
